The Water that Jesu Give

Gospel According to John

4.11-15

The woman said to him .'Sir you have no bucket and the well is deep.Where do you get that living water?Are you greater than our ancestor Jacob,who gave us this well and with his sons and his flocks drank from it?"Jesu said to her."Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty again.The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life".The woman said to him," Sir give me this water, so that I may never be thirsty or have to keep coming here to draw water."

Here we find Jesu referring to the insufficiency that is built in to the very material things that we use daily in our life.No one can live without hunger or thirst.Our body always crave for food and water.Our body is never satisfied with the food that we eat or the water that we drink.This is the law of the body or rather the law of the world.This unsatisfied nature pushes our body to further and further activities that require greater efforts on our part to satisfy it.The restlessness felt make us a victim of body and we may be tempted to sin in order to satisfy the needs of the body.The things to satisfy the body are not readily available.So we have to struggle and obtain them.The blessings that Jesu shower on us, the contact with Him that we establish and the prayer that we make to him draw us closer and closer to Him.Thus we partake in Eternity where there are no hunger or thirst.

Overcoming Casual tendencies

Gospel According to John 5.2-5 "Now in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate there is a pool, called in Hebrew Bethzaitha,which has five porticoes.In these lay many invalids-blind,lame and paralyzed.One man was there who was ill for thirty eight years." Here we find a man who has been ill and suffering for so many years.What could be the reason for this?A man suffering alone and uncared by none for so may years!It is really surprising for a man who leads a fast and hectic life.There are two ways to see this incident.One is that we conveniently and negligently ignore our own state.To say the least we are pathetically casual and lazy in certain crucial matters of our life.We just don't care and we pull on.This is a major fault that we are committing in the eyes of God.Some do not care about their health, some about their education, some about their near and dear ones and some about God and church services.This callous way of doing things make us a pathetic human being.We have to find...

Jesus Heals

Gospel According to John 5.6-7 "When Jesu saw him lying there and knew that he had been there a long time, he said to him , "Do you want to be made well?" The sick man answered him ," Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; and while I am making my way , some one else steps down ahead of me."
