Gospel According to John, 5;30 "I ca do nothing on my own. As I hear , I judge and my judgement is right,because I seek to do not my own will but the will of Him who sent me." Here we find Jesus doing nothing on his own or does not claim that he is doing it all alone.The Son of Man is in intimate and constant touch with God.God is intrinsic to Him.There is nothing apart from him that is not of God.He is truly God, Son of God. It is this intimate relationship or union with God that we human beings are to strive in our lives.God is to be in our breath, in our blood, in our eyes and in our ears.Here Jesus hears only God and He moves with Him.We simply do not recognise it.Humans are endowed with God elements and we keep this light under cover that is the tragedy of man.

Gospel According to John 5:26-29 " For just as the Father has life in himself,so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself;and he has given him authority to execute judgement, because he is the Son of Man.Do not be astonished at this , for the hour is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and will come out-those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil , to the resurrection of condemnation." God has given us life and we owe this life on earth to Him alone.Jesus the God Incarnate is the Saviour of the world.Many will ask "what is to be saved.I am leading a contented life, i have a good job, a good house, good income and a good family, what is there for me to be saved".In earthly terms this is true.Those who lead an earthly life or a materialistic life do not recognise the intervention of God in their lives.They just close their ears and eyes to God.God as truth or Truth as God eludes them always.T...

Gospel According to John,5:25 "Very truly, I tell you, the hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God,and those who hear will live." Death is both physical separation from earth and shutting down of our mind to God.The former form of death is known to all and almost everyone fears it and everyone wants to avoid it at all costs.The second form of death is less understood in that it is the separation from God in our deeds and acts.Those who die in this manner do not recognise God or they willingly refuse to acknowledge God in their lives.The fact is that God provides man with ample opportunities to be with God and man continuously rejects God.It is a pity that God who created and designed man run away from Him.The simple and varied opportunities that God plans for man to know Him are to be utilised by man.The Incarnated God,Jesus, perhaps may may be the most misunderstood personality of the world.

Gospel According to John 5:22-24 The Father judges no one but has given all judgements to the Son, so that all may honour the Son just as they honour the Father.Anyone who does not honour the Son does not honour the Father who sent him.Very truly I tell you any one who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, and does not come under judgement, but has passed from death to life. Here we see Jesus assuming that everyone honours and believes God the Father.Human beings have a natural inclination to believe in God the Creator.Think for a moment, the state of a man who does not believe his father.He will be in utter chaos and destruction.The second most important message in the gospel pertains to the cleavage that Jesus introduces in a subtle manner, that is it is easy to beleive Father and it is not easy to believe Jesus.Jesus led an earthly life here on earth, He walked on the earth, lived with us, ate food, performed miracles and did good deeds and suffered under Pont...

Gospel According to John 5:19-21 Jesus said to them "Very truly I tell you ,the Son can do nothing on his own ,but only what he sees the Father doing;for whatever the Father does ,the Son does likewise.The Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing;and he will show him greater works than these,so that you will be astonished. Here we come across the intimate relation that exists between Jesus and Father. Except through Jesus our Father is in a sense unknown to humanity.Jesus came to reveal the Father, the Creator of Heaven and Earth.We read in the Old Testament that Abraham prayed to God.People of that time had knowledge about God but it was Jesus who taught us to call God the Father, the eternal loving father.With Jesus teachings, the humanity has come to understand God in a new perspective, the supreme embodiment of love.

Gospel According to John 5;16-18. Therefore the Jews started persecuting Jesus,because he was doing such things on the day of Sabbath.But Jesus answered them "My Father is still working and I also am working. "For this reason the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because he was not only breaking the sabbath, but was also calling God his own Father,thereby making himself equal to God. Persecution of God may appear to be an irony because God Incarnate is subjected to terror by frail human beings.This the utmost folly that we can do here on earth.Of course it was the total blindness and the sinful nature of man that results in persecuting and rejecting God.In our egoistic belief and behavior, man tends to crucify God. Gospel According to John 5;13-15 Now the man who had been healed did not know who it was , for Jesus had disappeared in the crowd that was there.Later Jesus found him in the temple and said to him ,"See you have been made well .Do not sin anymore, so that nothing worse happens to you.The man went away told Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well. Gospel According to John 5;12 They asked him,'Who is the man who said to you,"take it up and walk?"Now the man who had been healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had disappeared in the crowd that was there. Gospel According to John 5:10-11 So the Jews said to the man who had been cured,"It is the sabbath;it is not lawful for you to carry your mat.But he answered them ,"The man who made me well said to me ,"take up your mat and walk.'" Here John touches upon a sensitive issue of the conflict between law and divine inspirations.Divine inspirations are to rule over earthly stirrings.Upon curing the man Jesus instructed the man to leave the place carrying the mat, a symbol of comfort that he earlier and the same was to be carried with him.It means that all our belongings, possessions and psychic structure are to remain with us.It can be changed only if the Lord wills so.
